Our West Glacier Corral is conveniently located on Highway 2, just 1.5 miles outside the West entrance of Glacier National Park. You will check in for your ride at the Activity Desk inside the Crown of the Continent Discovery Center. Our rides depart from behind the building and head out onto land managed by the United States Forest Service: These trails are NOT inside Glacier National Park. Rates and dates of availability for this ride are currently being updated for the 2021 summer season.
Overnight horseback trip
6+ hours in the saddle
Pack trips are reminiscent of a different era, when all you needed was a cowboy hat and your trusty steed to make it through the wilderness. Times have certainly changed since then, but our overnight horseback trips allow even those with the most jam packed Glacier National Park vacation schedule to experience a small slice of this deep rooted Montana tradition.
Guests check in at the West Glacier Corral behind the Crown of the Continent Discovery Center at 9:30 in the morning. While we go over important safety information with you, our experienced guides will be packing up your gear* in preparation for our overnight adventure. We will spend the day exploring the forest, enjoying a hearty lunch on the trail and taking in the beauty of Glacier. In the late afternoon, we’ll arrive at our Outfitter Camp, complete with wall tents and a fire pit. You’ll have time to get settled before indulging in a traditional cowboy dinner with all the trimmings. You’ll cap off the night, fireside, gazing at more stars than you ever knew existed. The next morning, we’ll have our fill of a hearty Montana breakfast before hitting the trail for a half day morning ride arriving back to the Corral just before noon.
Riders must be 10 years or older. Riders must be 250 pounds or less, but riders under 6 feet tall should be no more than 225 pounds. This ride may not be offered after September 15th.
*We can furnish sleeping bags upon request.
