MONTANA TRAVEL + COVID 19

Glacier National Park, including the east side, is open to visitors! However, some restrictions apply and conditions change daily. This year Glacier National Park is implementing a ticketed entry system for the Going to the Sun Road Corridor between the West Entrance and St.Mary’s Entrance. Please be sure to review that information as you plan your trip to the Park. You can also check the Park’s Recreation Access Display for at a glance information on which campgrounds and parking lots are open, closed or full. Or, read more detailed information on the Glacier National Parks Status Page, and what that means for visitors to the park.

Swan Mountain Outfitters is fully operational for the 2021 season and the safety of our community, employees, and guests is important to us.  Although restrictions are being lifted and people are getting vaccinated, the virus is still here and we are following CDC, State and Local recommendations to stop the spread of COVID-19:

  • If you are feeling ill or have symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you stay home and reschedule your trip
  • All guests must arrive to their scheduled trips with a face mask or covering. Wearing a mask or cloth covering over the mouth and nose is required when social distancing cannot be maintained (i.e. during the check-in process, as well as the mounting and dismounting process)
  • We recommend frequent hand washing or sanitizing. Hand washing is especially important prior to and after: touching the face, using the bathroom, eating, coughing and sneezing. Guests will be required to use hand sanitizer immediately before check-in and mounting horses
  • Social distancing, extra sanitizing of reins and saddles between uses, wranglers wearing masks while assisting guests with mounting horses, and other standards are in place to further protect our staff and clients

SAFETY + PRIVATE TRIPS

In these uncertain times, travel looks and feels different than it did before. When deciding where and when to travel, please be responsible and respect the community guidelines in the areas you are traveling to. For those of you who want to enjoy Glacier National Park from the saddle, but feel unsure about taking a mixed group ride, you still have options. We are excited to announce that we are now offering private trail rides within Glacier National Park. Private trail rides allow guests to enjoy Montana from horseback, with their own private party. Please call Swan Mountain Outfitters for details, rates, and questions about private rides. Call: 406-387-4405.

TRAFFIC DELAYS

During the 2021 summer season, expect heavy traffic, construction delays, and extremely limited parking. Plan extra time between activities for getting around and finding parking.
