Restrictions

These policies and restrictions are for your safety and the safety of those around you. Violation of any of the following may result in the immediate loss of riding privileges.

• No riders who are unable to mount unaided, or are unable to maintain control of their horse
• No riders who are unable to understand or follow staff instructions
• No riders with fear of horses and/or heights
• No “double” riding or lap children
• No smoking, vaping, or consumption of alcohol or drugs
• No firearms or bear spray
• No video cameras, DSLR or polaroid cameras, binoculars, or selfie sticks used while riding
• No backpacks, purses, fanny packs, or anything looped/strapped/draped around you. Saddle bags are provided
• No shorts or sandals. Shoes must fully enclose your toes and heel.
• No veering off trail
• No gaits faster than a walk (i.e. trotting, loping)
• No harassing wildlife, or collecting of rocks, plants, artifacts, etc.
• Safety helmets are mandatory for riders under the age of eighteen. Safety helmets are optional of riders eighteen and older.

Cancellation and Refund policy

Full refunds, less a 3% cancellation fee, will be issued if the ride is canceled with at least 48 hours’ notice and a vehicle reservation bypass has not been sent. *

No refund will be issued within 48 hours of the ride unless the ride is canceled by Swan Mountain Outfitters.

No refund will be given for late arrivals or no-shows, who will be barred from participation. 

No refund will be given for guests who are barred from participation due to being outside the age, height, and weight requirements for the ride:

No refund will be given to guests who decline or are declined by staff to ride for any other reason, including but not limited to: being unable or unwilling to mount their own horse from the ground, follow basic instructions, or ride due to fear or discomfort.
 
*If the corral is accessed via a vehicle reservation corridor (managed by the National Park Service), then Swan Mountain Outfitters will provide a pass (valid only for the applicable date and corridor) to present at Park entry points in lieu of a vehicle reservation. By default, this pass will be emailed 48 hours prior to the ride. Upon request, the pass may be sent early, but the ride will immediately become non-changeable and non-refundable.

Phone Use and Photographs

Riders choosing to take photos during their ride must demonstrate the ability to control their horse while doing so and must not cause a disruption to the horses, the guide, or other guests. Failure to do so will result in the guest being required to stow their device for the remainder of the ride.

• Wranglers may deny permission to use phones/cameras based on factors such as but not limited to the level of rider experience, horse behavior, terrain of the ride, weather, etc.
• Devices must be able to be operated in one hand. No DSLR or polaroid cameras. No selfie sticks or extending equipment that may startle or distract the horse.
• The use of phones is limited to taking photographs and videos. No phone calls, video chats, or texting is allowed. Phones must be kept on silent.
• Should you drop your phone during the ride, it may land in mud, manure, on rocks, be stepped on by a horse, become lost, or otherwise broken. By carrying your phone with you on the ride, you accept this risk and acknowledge that Swan Mountain Outfitters is not responsible for the loss of or damage to personal property.
• Violation of this policy may result in termination of the ride without refund.
